Ald. Bill Conway announces run for reelection in the 34th Ward

Ald. Bill Conway will not run for mayor and will instead seek reelection to represent the 34th Ward. He released the following statement today:

I'm proud to announce that I'm running for reelection as Alderman of the 34th Ward.

This morning I walked my three daughters to camp, saying hello to neighbors and snapping photos of issues to send to the 34th Ward team.

It reminded me why I love this job.

I have the incredible privilege of working every day to make our neighborhoods safer, stronger, and more prosperous.

Over several months, I've reflected on how I can best serve Chicago. After serious consideration, I've decided my place is here in the 34th Ward.

Chicago is at a critical juncture.

If we don't confront our financial challenges and debt with urgency and discipline, they'll eventually overwhelm every priority we care about: safer streets, good jobs, affordable housing, growth.

I'll continue to be an independent voice, supporting good ideas regardless of where they come from & speaking up when I believe we're on the wrong path.

I'm honored by the trust my neighbors have put in me. There's much more work to do & I'm excited for what's ahead.

How this site works

34thward.com collects public updates from elected officials, local businesses, civic organizations, religious organizations, and community newsletters that serve the 34th Ward. New items are gathered automatically each day from email newsletters and public feeds, summarized, and published here.

Items that name a specific person in connection with an allegation or dispute are held for a brief human review before publishing. Everything else publishes automatically. Every item links back to its original source.

This site aggregates and summarizes third-party content. It is not the official site of any elected official, and inclusion of an organization does not imply endorsement.
